Ansill Details
Ansill Food + Wine, a casual yet sophisticated restaurant and bar in the Queen Village neighborhood of Philadelphia, brings a fresh take to the genre of corner eateries.
The menu features a wide variety of European small plates and is designed to encourage sampling. It’s made up of approximately 40 small items (plus or minus a few) in categories such as Raw and Cured; Eggs; Meats and Fish; Vegetables; Cheese and Charcuterie; and Breads and Sandwiches. Some dishes are more filling than others, but all come in appetizer portions or smaller.
The menu changes seasonally but be sure to look out for adventurous items like the bone marrow crostini, duck prosciutto with marcona almonds, venison tartare, braised pork belly, and grilled quail in addition to less intimidating favorites like delectable gourmet cheeses, roasted cauliflower with truffle vinaigrette, grilled scallops, and the hangar steak with roasted shallots.
The food at Ansill is complemented sublimely by the bar’s extensive selection of premium wines and craft beers, both imported and domestic. Ansill was also among the first restaurants and bars in the United States to install a special draft beer system — developed in Ireland, it features an interval flow control adjustment that enables the tap to produce the perfect pour.
