One might think that Philadelphia already has enough cheesesteak eateries to last it a life time. While that may very well be true, you can never really have too many options for cheesesteak bliss. Especially considering that lines outside places like Jim’s and Pat’s can get outrageously long at peak hours.
Enter Steaks on South, a relative newcomer to Philadelphia’s cheesesteak scene, but one that is already turning a lot of heads and filling a lot of stomachs. Located at the heart of South Street — a few doors down from the storied Theater of Living Arts (TLA), Steaks on South has something on the menu to please everyone.
Sure, there are the traditional cheesesteaks — which are definitely worth trying. But the menu also boasts several other winning sandwiches that are sure to be crowd pleasers, including the garlic-studded roast pork, the buffalo chicken cheesesteak and a good selection of grilled veggie steak sandwiches.
And don’t miss the char-grilled rib eye sandwich — Steaks on South is one of the few steak shops in Philadelphia that lets you upgrade your sandwich with tender and juicy rib eye steak.
