Doylestown, Bucks County has much to offer through an impressive belt of historical attractions comprised of Fonthill Museum, Mercer Museum, the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works and the James A. Michener Art Museum. Fonthill was the home of creative genius Henry Mercer and every room, every hall and every turn is strikingly indicative of that genius.
The Mercer Museum is a grouping of towering castle houses that exhibit dramatic displays of folk art, furnishings and tools of early America. The Moravian Pottery & Tile Works is a working history museum that continues to produce tiles and mosaics in a manner similar to that employed by Henry C. Mercer himself.
Located within the handsomely reconstructed buildings of the old Bucks County Prison, the James A. Michener Art Museum promotes artists located in, and around, Bucks County through its collection of 20th century American art, sculpture and changing exhibitions.
