An outstanding collection of art beckons from the Convention Center’s common areas, thanks to imaginative use of percent-for-art funds. If you’re attending an event there, stop to admire an epic painting by Sidney Goodman, a graceful Steven Robin sculpture, and works by fifty other Philadelphia-based artists. Some larger works have been created especially for the spaces here: in the Great Hall, look up to catch Judy Pfaff’s vast hanging sculpture, filling the high ceiling’s firmament with planet-forms and star-trails. If you’re not a convention-goer, you must call to arrange a tour.
